Shogi Academy (“the app”) is developed and published by Buddy Kinder. This policy explains what the app does — and does not do — with your information.
Shogi Academy does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind.
The app saves your progress — completed lessons, solved puzzles, and your position on the AI ladder — using your device’s local app storage. This information never leaves your device, is never uploaded to any server, and is removed when you delete the app. On iOS and iPadOS it may be included in your own iCloud or computer backups, which are governed by Apple’s privacy policy, not by the app.
Nearby Match connects two nearby devices directly using Apple’s MultipeerConnectivity framework over Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth. It is used only to exchange the moves of the current game between the two players. It uses no server, and it transmits no personal information — only the device’s user-visible name (as shown by the operating system during pairing) and game moves. The connection ends when the match ends or the screen is closed.
The app requests local-network permission solely for this feature. Declining the permission disables Nearby Match and nothing else.
“Support the Developer” offers optional tips processed entirely by Apple’s In-App Purchase system. The app receives no payment details, no identity information, and no purchase history beyond Apple’s standard transaction confirmation. Tips unlock nothing and are never required. Refunds and purchase records are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms.
The app is rated 4+ and contains no content, communication features, or data collection directed at or unsuitable for children. Because no data is collected from anyone, none is collected from children.
The app contains no third-party SDKs, advertising networks, analytics tools, or social-media integrations, and makes no internet connections of its own.
Because the app collects no personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete. Removing the app from your device removes all data it stored.
If the app’s behavior ever changes in a way that affects privacy, this policy will be updated and the “Last updated” date revised. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
